Default Better Mileage

I have searched the forum for ways to get better mileage to no avail. What are some of the things you all have done to acheive better mileage? Are there some emissions systems I can remove? I was also looking into a power programmer- I am not interested in more power, just better mileage. Any suggestions?

Sorry if this is a repeat post. Thanks-

Drive 55 MPH and make sure your tires are stock size with the reccommended tire pressure to reduce the rolling resistance. After that, it is all in the aerodynamics and making it flow through the air better, like having a tounneau cover or camper shell on the vehicle. But you don't want to add weight to the vehicle either. The most important thing that you can do to save on fuel short of getting rid of your truck, is to change your driving style. Like trying not to come to a complete stop, stay out of the traffic as they will influence you to do the whole stop and go thing. Just some suggestions.

Well a programmer wouldn't be ideal, but you could make it save some gas, yeah. Just make the truck shift quicker and back the injector slope off a bit. It will suck for haulin and will make it not so comfotable to drive on the highway (less cruising power), but you could save some gas.

For a stock truck you can really save some fuel if you try and pay attention when on the highway. When you get up to 60 mph (or any speed, just the best milage is at 60) you can ease your foot back on the pedal to just before you start losing speed. I was able to achive 26.1 mph average per the trucks calculator. This was completely stock with the 5.3. It is hard to maintain this speed for me as I have a lead foot, but it works. Also CAI, TBS and slightly more free exhaust will help, as long as you can keep your foot out of it.
