Default The Big Move

It snowed like hell last weekend when I finally got a chance to move all my stuff into the new house. This is what I emailed to my coworkers.....

I have moved the vast majority of my stuff into the new house. The move on Saturday was hell. First it was freezing rain, then snow, then more snow. Thankfully Jeff, Ed, Katie and my two buddies I grew up with, (Paul and Bill), stuck it out. We went from ice-skating to and from the truck, to shoveling the driveway and even the truck ramp! We moved my father’s stuff out of the house first and got it into storage and then we moved our stuff from Monongahela to the new house. We managed to stuff a 24-foot box truck to the teeth with my dad’s belongings. I mean every nook and cranny of the truck and my pickup was filled! I spent most of Sunday recouping and have spent most of this week cleaning the Monongahela house and unpacking in the new house. Lessons I have learned:[/align] Ed can’t ice skate in tennis shoesEmpty 24-foot box trucks don’t like steep hills in the snow (up or down)Never say “It will never fit”, because if its cold enough outside you will MAKE it fitNew neighbors don’t like the sound of loud crashes followed by profanityMOST IMPORTANTLY: Watch the weather channel BEFORE planning a big move!!![/ol]

Those are some good lessons! I'm glad that you made it sounds like a pain in the ***.

I hope it does because even tho I have a garage and driveway now, I won't have room to park a beater and my truck along with my gf's Escort. But I'm going to have to get a beater at some point if it goes up much higher. I have a good drive to work in the morning. Plus the roads around my house a beating the hell outa my truck.

I think its still going to go up because summer fuel is always more expensive than winter fuel.

Since it turned into a gas price thread, I thought I'd toss in my .02C.

You will not hear a single whimper, bitch, moan, or blasphemy out of my mouth regarding gas prices until such time as petrol products reach $5.00/gallon.

I figure that everyone else in the fackin world is paying that, or more, and have been doing so for quite some time. : )

That being said, I'm back to looking for another car to add to the arsenal. Something that gets better than 15mpg on the freeway. W00t!
