Default Single Outlet straight pipe

I have a 96 Chevy 1500 5.7 350
I'm worried about back pressure mostly, just wondering if i could get some advice if this set up would be ok

Well the exhaust pipes going to the muffler are about 2 in and there is a single 2.5 in coming out factory
What i want to do is cut out the muffler and put in a Y collector from the Two 2 in pipes to the single 2.5 in out

Would i have any issues doing this?

thank you
Brian

Seems like that would work pretty well to me. Might sound better with some kinda muffler on it though. Guess it's all a matter of personal preference in the long run.

should work... i dont think you have to worry about backpressure on the 5.7s though... i dont know though i've never had one. but your setup should work fine if thats what you want
