bigger amp alternator questions and concerns

Default bigger amp alternator questions and concerns

Hi i have a 2005 Gmc Sierra 1500 5.3 flex V8 , i have an intimidator deka battery and i have alot of extra lighting installed on my truck mostly it is all LEDs and i have noticed that when my windows r up and i am facing my garage if i tap or hold the switch to put the window up and what not there is a decent amount of draw on the amps and i really wanted to put a bigger amp alternator on my truck but i was wondering how high could i go? is it worth it? where could i find one that is vehicle specific? and in order to install a bigger amp one does anything need to change i really hope someone can help me out with these questions , thanx so much Zach

I'll tell you right now, easiest upgrade to do is the Alt. wire. The factory put 10 AWG. Go get some 4 AWG and all your electricals will get more juice.
