Bigger tires and gas mileage
I've read about you guys putting bigger rubber on the rims and losin milage on the 5.3's and what not, but that is with the 3.73 dif. I was wondering if my milage would drop much if I boosted mine - I've got the 6.0 with 4.10 dif and it only has 245's on the rims. The tires look tiny for the truck and I was thinking of stepping it up a little - not huge but to at least fill the wheel well like it's supposed to be. Should I see the same drop in milage wor with the different setup will it stay the same?

RE: Bigger tires and gas mileage
superdd - what are all the dimensions on your tires? If they are less than 33" and you increase to 33" you will be in your best rpm range with 4.10 for milage. I have the 3.42 and it dropped a little with 33" tires over the stock 31.7 in tires. I wish I had 4.10.

RE: Bigger tires and gas mileage
When I first got the truck it was anywhere between 11-13 c/h but I've put on a tbs and it actually boosted up to 15 highway. As I said earlier - thats with the 6.0 on 4.10 rearend with 245's on the tires. Sounds like I need to size up my tires a bit! Thanks guys.
