Blower connector meltdown
I have a 2005 Chev 2500 HD
My heater blower appeared to be stuck on high.....Ignition off. I wondered where that all to familiar smell of burning electrical casing was coming. Required a pliers to separate the melted connector at the blower. Is this a common or uncommon condition? Recall?
Without looking at a schematic...the two conductors closest the passenger side of the connector could be seen arcing. I've had intermittent problem with the #3 position on the dash selector as well.
Appreciate some feedback from any "sparkies" out there

Have a dealer run your vin#. I think GM is covering them 2003 to 2007 silverado classic and some other models with hvac option CJ3 or C42. Option list found in glove box. Anyway 10 years or 150,000 miles. Special policy came out on May 9th.

It is a wire gauge issue - they (the dealer) sell a pig tail to splice into your harness that fixes it. I have done a few - 10 minute job and your back in business. Replace the resistor as well.
