Default BOSCH Plugs?? Do u use them?

I went to the store to get plugs and wires for my 03 Silverado 5.3L. At the storehe had AC delco Iridiums and Bosch Platinum. The Bosch were half the price. I didn't buy anything. He told me the Bosch were just like my stock.. Any opinions?? Thanx

In my opinion, the bosch platinum plugs are better than the overpriced ac delco plugs.

I replaced mine with bosch plugs a couple months ago and they are working excellent. Word to the wise: be careful when you are removing the plug wires. They are VERY sensitive. I just replaced mine today because a friend who removed one of the plug wires behind to the ac drier pulled on the plug wire instead of the boot (my hand was too big to get to it).

I like ac delco parts, but I can't believe how overpriced they have become.

just my 2 cents!!!

I would use AC Delco tuneup parts. Many times other brand parts will cause the sensors to give you a service engine light.

If engine has performed well with AC Delco why change and take a chance.

be sure to use anti seize on plugs as you install them,
also dielectricgrease on boots to insure they make good connections.

Every Chevy I have ever owned got AC Delco parts and NGK plugs. The NGK Iridium plugs are cheaper than AC Delco and they are better if you ask me. (Going on 11 years of using nothing but NGK in foreign and domestic without any problems).

I just got an Intrepid for my girlfriend cause the POS Escort she had was nickle and diming us to death. Needed plugs but the only ones available ANYWHERE where Champions. I hate Champion plugs.

if you want to spend $10 per plug, then buy the AC Delco plugs.

I have trouble with thinking that ac delco parts as the only option though. I would hate to think that there is not a significant amount of research by other manufacturers. The plugs are gapped the same and operate at the same temperature. How could they be bad for your engine?

I've been using NGK for years in marine applications and just love 'em. And yes- I hate champions too.

If it were between Bosch and AC delco, I'd get bosch. however, I agree that if the two brands are gapped the same, the spark and resistance should be similar- it shouldn't "hurt" any part of the ignition system.

just my .02
