I have seen some aftermarket harnesses that claim to plug directly into a connector beside my break pedal to allow me to install a brake controller. My truck is a 2004 gmc sierra 2500 with the 7 pin factory installed rv plug at the rear. I called the factory and after researching my vin was told that no factory controller was offered aftermarket for my truck. I don't want to start cutting wires and spliceing. Do these aftermarket harnesses actually work? In advance thank you for your assistance.

We have an 06 2500HD Duramax that has a trailer brake controller right by the brake pedal, from what I understand these are universal as we had the same one on our 03 1/2 ton and switched it out when we traded it in. They do work and the trailer brakes will not work without one
