Brake light

Default Brake light

Hi everyone new to your forum with a problem, just bought a 1990 1500 Chevy truck and the brake light has always been on the brakes work perfect abs OK the e brake switch looks like its actuating but today the light started blinking. It blinks ten times then goes off then blinks ten times again has anyone else seen this. Kevin

Did ya check fluid level??

Lets see, go down the road where there is no traffic and get up to speed about 35 mph and slam hard on the brakes. Just test it to see if it has good pressure or if it goes to the floor when this is done.

Good pedel stops stright no lock up everything works as its suppose to except the light. Kevin

Hmmm the only thing I can think of is the switch for the E brake is stuck.

If the blinking light seems to be syncronus than I would think your truck is telling you to check for code(s).

Thats a good point, I would look into that. Might call the dealer and ask a parts pro if that is possible.

Problem solved it turned out to be the brake light switch on the brake pedal $12 and all is well and working fine
