broken glass, passenger door
my truck, as well as several other vehicles, was broken into yesterday by smashing the window in the passenger door. any comments would be helpful. any humor to lift my spirit would be greatly appreciated as well, or philosophical discourse to deflate the mounting cynicism .... the best i can drum up is that it was someone out-of-work and needing money for medication for their child. so, ought I diy or shop? what does it take to fix this? special tools? what price ought I expect at the junk yard? or glass shop?

Well depending on the truck and insurance policy, you might be able to get it done under your comprehensive on your insurance. The gooseneck trailer of ours was turned to sharp on a hill and crunched the cab on our 06 Crew Cab duramax and broke the rear and driver side rear window. We had a body shop repair the cab, but then called an auto glass place, and they came to the house and replaced the other two windows for only the deductable on our insurance($100) but it just so happened they were running a specialwhere they covered our deductible. Good day
I'm sorry to hear you had such shoddy luck. Yeah I had a 24ft peice of sheet metal fly off my trailer today (while sitting still) and scratch the hell outta my tailgate. Not much you can do about it though. **** happens
