Broken seat back

Broken seat back
I have a 1997 Extended Cab 3rd door pickup that I love dearly. My lovely wife has broken my drivers seat. Instead of walking around the truck to put something in the back seat she used the little lever on the side of my drivers seat. Now my seat will not stay in one place. If I move the handle it returns to the middle position.
Please help as my truck is not safe to drive in the shape it is in.
Thanks
