Buying a Sierra 4x4
Whats up y'all, I'm buying my first ever pickup, a 2003 GMC 1500 4x4 with the 5.3L engine and auto trans. It's got a little over 67K miles on it. It's a really nice looking truck, the only thing that kinda bugs me is that it's like a strippo model...no power anything, not even a center armrest lol...but that's not that important
What are these things like durability/maintenance wise? It's pretty common knowledge that GM auto trannies are pretty durable, are the 4x4's more maintenance? What are some maintenance things I need to be looking for at this mileage?
Any advice on these trucks would be awesome...thanks in advance

RE: Buying a Sierra 4x4
the biggest flaw with any gm truck is that the pinion seals leak a little, other than that the only additional maintence is check the transfercase and front diff fluid levels every so often. i have a 94 with 180,000 miles never had anything major done other than a fuel pump at 150,000 and u-joints at 170,000. good luck and think you'll be pleased with any gm truck
