A/C

A/C
I just bought a 1995 extended cab 4x4 Silverado with only 41,000 miles on it. When I turn the a/c on it works fine, but the little a/c light goes off after about thirty seconds. Sometimes it will flicker a bit before it goes out. Could this be low refrigerant or just a faulty light? The a/c still blows cold. Thanks.

RE: A/C
i have a 96 and my light stays on when the A/C is on so i would think you have a faulty light.
i would take it to an A/C shop and have it checked. i don't think you would be low on refrigerant because at the very least it would ice up your evaporator core after a short time. my guess is its the light or something in the wiring to the light.
you don't want to run an A/C unit that is low on coolant. thats why i recommend to have it checked.
as long as the shop says your A/C is fine then i wouldn't worry about the light unless it bothers you.
