I have a 2000 GMC Sierra w/ the 5.3 V8. I am looking to cam it and i kinda would like some input on what cam to buy. i dont know that much about the cams for trucks. I want something that sounds mean that is loud and loopy. i am getting headers with the cam so any input on which cams are better out there. thanks kevin.

 

The type of cam you get depends on what you want out of your truck and how much you want to spend. A good machine shop can custom grind you whatever you want. If you want to spend some money, steel billet roller cams are just about bullet proof, you just have to decide what you want out of your truck.
If you just want your truck to sound mean, change your exhaust.
