No, there were 3 options listed. 3.42, 3.73, 4.10. Although when I bought my truck I was told only 3.42 and 4.10 were available even though 3.73 was listed as an option.

 

I got a quote from the local 4 Wheel Parts to put in 3.73 gears ....$1456.00 installed.

Same price for 4.10s? Is that with a new limited slip or just gears?

 

He said the 4.10's would be more ..and it's just for gears.

 

Manthat sux! If I'm gonna spend that kind of cash for performance I'm getting a cam swap or something that'll actually make a big difference.

 

1500 dollars for the gear change??? Somebody israping somebody. Don't be scared to put them in yourself. Its not that hard of task. the gears are in between 300-500 daollars depending on the brand and the size of the rear so your really paying for the labor. You might as well buy a cam kit and and spend the extra money for more horsepower. But on my old 88 it don't take much to wake it up so its a lil different for you ls1 and ls2 guys. Jealous by the way. thinking bout a swap.

 

What would be the easiest way to tell which gears I have. I called my self looking through all the documentation, but I came up with nothing.

 

Need some more info on your truck year motor body drive type ect.

 

it is a 05 ChevyLT Z-71 crewcab 5.3

 

Thats the same truck smoke20 has and i have the ext. cab same thing I would say its got the 3:42 in it but i could be wrong you have to get the vin# to a chevy dealer and they can tell you.
