change my plugs 99 sierra

Ho do i remove the plug wires on my 99 gmc sierra? They seem to have a metal boot on them and i can't pull the wire off, feels like I will break something.

If it's the same as my 2000 pull the heat shield. The whole thing comes out and the heat sheild just slides off the boot.

Yes that is right. If they have been on there a while chances are you will pull the wire out of the boot. So you may want to have a new set of wires ready.
