Cool chevy 1500 need help

just did rebuild seams to run good had question on trans. so we replaced it new fluid and convter.with no change. my problem is when I drop in gear it pulls off quick like it has no clutch. when you try to stop you have got to drop to N before you can bring it to a stop. I changed the brake switch thinking something electric but no change but my tail lights now work, What am I missing. I have looked at it so long that I have blinders on and seam not to be able to see the simple things. So I am turing to the firum for help. K

sounds like its sticking in over drive.....sounds like the OD apply solinoid is sticking in the apply position....but.....a valve body problem can also do the same thing.........does your cruise kick off when you hit the brakes?.....it might be bennificial to get a wiring diagram and start tracing some circuts.

I have looked at this truck so long that even the simple things I am overlooking at this point, K
