I just bought a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab. I am a FF/EMT in my town and want to install an automatic car starter for late night calls but how can I find out if my key has a chip in it other than a hacksaw?

 

No there is no chips in the chevy keys atleast up to 05s.

 

If you have a chip you would be able to see it it a little black square I think I had one on my 96
