So last year I painted my bowtie a nice blue. Put a clear coat on it (Dupli-Color). Two problems. I put a number of coats (2 or 3) on it but the thing never got that good wet look. Maybe I wasn't putting it on thick enough...

But my REAL question is, the clear coat scratched two weeks after I sprayed it on. (a large scratch in the corner). Now, 'real' clear coats on a vehicle appear to be much harder as the scratch was only caused by something which shouldn't have scratched it at all. This Dupli-Color seems to be a real 'soft' clear coat. Does anyone around here know of a good 'hard' clear coat brand?

You could try spies-hecker. Thats what they use at high end shops.
