Wonder how it cracked? If you clean it good ... rough it up . At least 1" all the way around it. Will work . Get the original jb not quick. Let it get tacky , as not too drip.
Clean area with solvent that will remove oil.

If your going to use jb weld, make sure that you use a fairly thick layer of it. Ofcourse the proper way to fix it is replacing the oil pan with a new one,but jb weld should work as long as you make sure that the area to be patched is spotless. No oil,no grease,no road grime, and sand it real well.

For about $100 or less, you can get a brand new oil pan and a gasket for it. I don't know how well the jb weld will work. I wouldn't do it on my truck or for a customer. I'd fix it the proper way, even if I had to go pull out a small personal loan at the bank. That's just how I am though, I am **** when it comes to repairing my vehicles. All I can say is give it a try and see if it works but you are only going to get one shot at fixing it with jb weld. Another thing to consider is how did the pan crack? If you hit something again with the jb weld in place,it could cause it to crack again, maybe worse than last time. Let me know how it turns out and good luck.
