Default crewcab with a rear end shake

hello there. ive dug as much as i can but couldnt find anything on this subject so here goes...06 gmc sierra crewcab 2wd has a shake in the rear end. its not the wheels and tires. ive had aftermarkets and stock and it still shakes. couple of buddies told me to shim the rearend and it should take care of it but i dont know. i bought the truck with 52 miles on it and its done it since then but it wasnt so bad then....i could barely feel it. now, its horrible. shes got 87000. any ideas?

I think the shims would be in the diff. I'd take it to a shop and ask them about it.

i was thinking it could be the ujoint or carrier bearing. i was told that shimming the bearing could help the problem? still no ideas guys?

Have you replaced the u joints and carrier bearing already? It's not a bad starting point and not terribly expensive either.
