Default Different rim/tire combo....

I'm sure a lot of you have seen the setup I think I wanna go with. I see a lot of guys around here that go with a super wide rim and tire combo but a low profile tire like a 50-55 sidewall so that the truck sits low and the wheels stick out alittle bitand looks like is ready to go racing. I don't know exactly what rim dimensions and tire sizes would work best for this though so I was wondering if anyone might have any input on the matter. I would like to have atleast some 17"s I think. I've got the factory polished 16"s now and though they would look alright I don't think they are wide enough to do this. Wouldn't you need atleast a 10" wide rim or so to do this correctly? And what tire sizes do you think would look best?

I don't wantto make it Mexican looking, just wanna make it sit a lot lower and have that bull dog stance.

If you have no lift, you should stay the same size as stock or a little wider, but total diameter should stay close to stock. A lift as small as a leveling kit(2 inches) could allow a total diameter of 33 inches, like a 285-75-16 or 285- 70-17.

something likea 295 or 305 would possiable be enuff to give it that look you are going for. That all depends on the backspaceing of the rim you go with i know nothing about backspacing so im no help there.

Yeah that's what I'm trying to figure out is how wide of a rim I would need and how much backspacing would be needed.

Also 'moose', I'm not putting bigger tires on it. I wanna put wider tires on it. Low profile and real wide like Corvette, wheels kinda wide. I'm talking about like 295/50R17 or 305/50R17..... something like that.

Do you need a spacer plate to run tires as wide as you want

You might need one depending on the height of the tire, you can go pretty wide with the correct backspacing I know that.
