DIY Repair on 2006 Silverado Front Bumper
On the way to work this am I hit a deer with my 06 Silverado with 66K on it. It bent the lower bumper down and the left front qtr. panel and broke the turn signals loose on both sides and damaged the grill. We may opt NOt to file with insurance depending on how much they would plan to raise our premiums. If we don't file I will get estimate on lowest cost repair to make it driveable again and reasonably back to normal. i don't believe there was any frame or mechanical damage.
I may opt myself to remove bumper so I can get a better look and see if I can do some repair myself.
Do any listees have any experience repairing this area of an 06? If so I'd sure like to communicate and get some thoughts. Also, any recommendations on where to buy any replacement parts I might need would be great. I don't feel I need new...just good condition used would work but not sure how to source used parts or best source for new OEM parts.
Is there a good source online to help me through process of removing bumper?
Any advice would be most welcome and very much appreciated.
Mike
