Default DOH!!! Hood Latch problem

I have a 95 c3500 that I am in the process of swapping out the 6.5td & auto trans for a 6.5td & manual trans out of my 93 c3500 but during a move the hood got closed without hooking up the hood release cable. So I am wondering if anyone had any suggestions for the easiest way to open the hood up

Long needle nose pliers and patients. Unless you can get to it through the front grill with a long screw driver.

I think I would rather replace the grill then the hood, unless the hood was already damaged and the grill was new. With the grill out you should be able to get a screw driver in there and release the latch
