Default door rust and paint

hey guys, every year i gotta sand down the bottom of my doors and paint them because they start to rust, i was thinking of using roll on bedliner like a rocker guard type paint cause it seems like a tougher paint, could i use the roll on bedliner stuff? and should i use a primer?

I'm in the same boat. Just did it in the fall and now I've got that wonderful orange **** on my pewter paint. I think I'm going to pay the money and have a body shop do it this year. I'd assume that their paint is an enamel instead of a lacquer that you buy at NAPA

its not really rusting, the paint is flaking off after 6 months of abuse from water, salt, gravel ETC then it starts to rust. i have a friend that owns a body shop and i used there paint but just brushed it on, thats why im thinking of using a tougher paint like rocker gaurd cause it might not flake off, cause of **** hitting it.
