Default Which Exhaust???

Heyas all, Im new to the forum and im debating on what I should get. I have a 03 Chevy Silverado Z71 ( i think the 5.3 liter V8 Vortec). I have a Flowmaster 40 series muffler right now with the single exit on the side of the truck. I went to a guy today and he said for 250$ he would give me 2 cherry bomb glasspacks, a cherry bomb muffler, and 2 chrome tips out the back of the truck. Which should i go with, which would sound better and get more horsepower / gas mileage?? I want a rumble that sounds like a truck that is loud but not loud enough where when i drive long distances it annoy's me on the inside of the truck.

Thank you for the help,
Brandon

I would stick with the flowmaster i personally like the way they sound and you would proabaly benifit more in the areas of hp/fuel millage if you stuck with what you have. This is my recomendation but then again i dont know anything about cherry bombs.

2 glasspacks and a muffler? or 2 glasspacks or a muffler? i personally am thinking about getting a cherry bomb extreme... i like flowmasters though... just don't run true duals or you'll lose too much torque

Two glasspack and a muffler? Well I have no idea what that would sound like. Deep probably, maybe not as much crackle as a glasspack alone. I think a cherry bomb muffler is a generic Flowmaster anyways.

Dual glasspacks will be loud at high rpms and rumble at low rpms, bad side is that there will be alot of interior resonance no matter where the muffler is mounted. I have to admit tho, I freakin loved my 91 at idle with the glasspacks on it, and at low rpms......used to give me goosebumps.

hey, i just started here too and i have been looking around for the same kind of answers that you have. i have done alot more research and im pretty sure that im going to go with the flow master 40 series. you should look into it too. the pricing is reasonable and the installation is pretty easy if you know how to spot weld.
your choice in the end, butsince i dont have one at the moment you shouldnt trust my opinion entirely!
any ways good luck!

I was told a flowmaster 50 is best for a Silverado 5.3L.
