Default Fan switch or blower motor??

My mother -in- law has a 2002 Silverado Ext Cab. Recently the the number 1 position on the fan switch went out and then number 2 went out yesterday. I never had such a problem with my current Sierra or Silverado before it. I was wondering which problem is the most common, the fan switch going bad or the blower motor?

I searched and found similar problems but on older generations. Didn't know if it would make a difference so I'm asking now.

Thanks
Ken

Default RE: Fan switch or blower motor??

My 2003 did that I changed the blower resistor it was smoked.. It was pretty easy it was down on the passenger side under the glove box.. I took the black plastic guard off and found it. It has 2 plugs on it and 2 screws hold it up took me 20 min start to finish to find it and replace it..
