Default Blower Switch?

With AC or vent heat ect on. I turn the blower on the #1 position, and its nothing, move it to to #2 and its nothing, you dont start to feel air blowing out of the vent till you hit #3. Anyone know what causes this? What can I replace to fix this?

Heard about this before and seen some suggestions about a resistor gone bad inside the HVAC unit.

I've had this problem and it was the blower resistor unit. Mine (different make) was a unit that had wire wound resistors for each blower speed. They get pretty hot and failure was fairly common. Mine was mounted from the inside underneath the glove box. All you could see was the bottom of the unit and the wiring plug. Like I said, mine was a different vehicle and yours probably will be different but I'll bet that is where the problem is. Good luck.

Yes thanks guys! Went to autozone got it for around $25. Put it in in about 30 minutes. Now all 5 settings work!
