ironically, its almost exactly one year later and i'm on the other side of the country

starting to think about fixing these 3 issues.

for the fuel guage issue, on rockauto, could not determine which ACDelco part is the correct one:

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,ca...,parttype,6256

$255.79 MU1613 { ... MU1089, MU1516}
$262.79 MU1614
$288.79 MU1005
$302.79 MU1089
$240.79 MU1517 {Pigtail May Need Replacement In Order For Module To Function #19121627, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, ... MU1090, MU1333} ...... Non-stock item--shipping delayed up to 5 business days

... and was also wondering if replacing just the sensor would wise:

$26.79 DORMAN Part # 911005

My ABS sensor has been doing that for over a year now. It doesn't affect braking, and it seems to come on more when the roads are wet.

The fuel guage is the sender that is in the tank. They pretty much all go bad. GM has an upgrade kit to put in when you replace it.

The odometer light could be a bad contact as listed or the cluster itself could be going bad.
You were right. They were three separate issues.

I fixed the odometer light by resoldering the contact on the back of the instrument cluster, by following the directions in a link that I posted above. IThat fix is still working 5 years later. Here is the link again http://mrfixit.webnode.com/step-by-step-instruction/

The fuel pump failed. The gauge starting working properly again after I replaced the pump.

The ABS and Brake lights still light up together intermittently. They've been doing that for some 6 years now. I've tried fixing possibly faulty grounds, and have done the electrical tests on the harnesses leading to the electro-hydraulic assembly. I plan to remove the Kelsey Hayes 325 module and send it in to ModuleMasters one of these days. What's keeping me from doing it today is that the module is held on by 4 hard-to-reach screws, the heads of several are badly corroded. So the two solutions are A: to do it right by removing both the module and hydraulic unit, or B: dremel off the heads, pop off the module, then install a rebuilt module with some "custom" clamps.

If solution A didn't involve bleeding the hydraulics afterwards, which I don't know how to do on this truck due to the tricky ABS bleeding procedure, I'd pursue solution A and replace the front brake calipers at the same time.

Buddy...You need to check in more often than every 4 years....lol

About the ABS problem, in these 6 years, have you never had to replace a front wheel bearing/hub?......Seems to me that is what was causing your light to come on

4 yrs, yes that would be lol !

Actually, yes, but just the front driver's side hub assembly because of vibration while driving and north-south-east-west play in that wheel (only). At the same time I also replaced two u-joints and the center-support bearing on the drive shaft.

I've an Actron CP9580 scanner reads ABS codes. Going back 4 years now since I bought it new, it has always reported only C0265, "Electronic Brake Control Module Motor Relay Circuit". I clear the codes, and the system sets C0265 again. I've repeated this over and over. It's always - and only - C0265.

But there's now catch. Since I haven't scanned for codes in 12-18 months, I just now rescanned. A new code is being set. It's C0237, "Rear Speed Sensor Erratic". The old code is no longer being set. Just C0237. Doesn't make sense to me. But that's the story now.
