I have a new 07 Sierra crew. I took it on a 1400 mile trip. It got 18.6. It has a 5.3 with fuel managment, and has 3.42 gears. Is this normal mileage? Thanks for any in put.

 

I'd say yes...you should bump 20 to 21 if you treat the gas pedal like a cracked egg and keep her around 60 ish..

it also should rise a bit once it hits about 5k

My 03 Sierra has the 4.8L and my AVG MPG meter says 16.8...... Although I am pulling a trailer 2/3 of the time I'm driving it. How often does the AVG MPG meter update in our trucks? I have only seen mine change twice in like 2 months. When I bought it it said 17mpg, then like a month later it said 16.9mpg, and a couple weeks ago it dropped to 16.8
