Fuel pump ground circuit question

I have a 2002 Silverado V6. Thru troubleshooting a fuel pump problem, I found the ground wire for pump motor is broken somewhere. Anyone ever heard of this and/or does anyone know where this wire terminates?

It should be on the frame near the tank. They are known to get corroded and make the pump act up.
