Fuel pump/sending unit for 2000 Chevy Silverado

I have a 2000 Chevy Z71 and it has a bad fuel pump/sending unit. How do I determine prior to pulling if a vehicle has the E3500M or E3501M model pump?

Your going to have to drop tank,or pull bed anyways .
Should have a tag on wire harness with pump info.

the 3500 has 2 connectors and the 3501 has one connector. The 3500 is an upgraded model that has a different wiring harness that you will have to splice in.
