The things I do to cut down on gas consumption are simple. Drive like a freakin grandpa, stop and think to yourself "where I'm going is there need to be rushed"? If not take it easy, really slow gradual starts off the line, if you see a light up ahead go orange let off and coast, even try to roll through it so when your near the line you get the green while still rolling, andfull synthetic. Also a cool tip I've heard is to buy fuel on wed mornings around 8am because your charged for the volume of fuel so in the morning its thickest, and wed prices are cheapest. I still warm my truck up though, start up is the worst part of the day for your truck because all night the oil has thickened. I'm sure I've missed some others but just driving better has literally doubled the time my tank lasts!!

Not trying to bring up old crap but, did anyone ever really try that acetone trick? A couple of web sites swear by it.

I tried Acetone for Several tanks and found NO IMPROVEMENT WHATSOEVER in MPG! It did however clean out my fuel system,I had a persistent high RPM detonation from a dirty injector or injectors that twice had the "on the car" high pressure injector cleaning service done at the Chevy dealer and would return a few days later(yes the fuel filter was also changed twice), but since the acetone that problem NEVER returned.

I agree with jpgoodnu. I tried it and it seemed to work the first time I tried it, but after that it didn't seem to do much of anything at all compared to just plain old gas. I think it cleaned the **** out of my fuel system and thats it. But for fear of drying out my rubber fuel system components, I stopped using it.
