I would not go any higher than 4:10's. I have 3:73's with 33's and pull a 21ft Marada with a Cuddy cabin with no problem. I am not sure why you are struggling other than maybe the 4.8?

With 33s, I would say 4.10 for all around. But if you are really looking for power and towing with the loss of milage then 4.56. So for your application 4.10 seems best.

i agree with the 4.10's, have you ever gotten your comp retuned for the bigger tires? its not such a big deal w/ the tires but when you change your gears you really should, and when they do that they can probally change the tranny program to help u out up hills more

well i tuned it with the hypertech. the more i think about it the more i figure its the altitude. ogden ut is somewhere around 5500-6000 ft.

im running 31" wrangler MT/R's with my aftermarket 4.10's... does any of you think im losing performance due to my tires being so small?

No i would not think so. You arent getting as good of gas mileage as if you had say 33's. From what i have read.

yeah, thats what i thought.. a little less MPG... but sometimes i feel that my truck shifts to quick.. i mean.. sometimes i use to sand drag up a hill in 4WD LOW... and that thing shifts to quick i think...

It feels like it is shifting quick becasu you are running out of gear. But you are gaining accelleration, and yes losing milage.
