Default Getting to 105 mph

I couldn't remember which thread this topic was in.
I couldn't get to 105 due to traffic this morning. I did find out that it takes me 0.3 mile to go from 80 to 100. It's a dog.

I did not think in your old age your truck could get to 105 were you running from smoke20 or something?

I wasn't chasin him, he was probably after a midget carnie again. I tried again today, and the same thing, hit 105 fast, then slowed accelleration.

I tried again at lunch. From 70 the motor knocked really bad when it downshifted. There is just too much traffic around here for my truck. I need a runway to get that fast.

Did you try going one up on the octane yet?

Yes, today immediately after the incident. I haven't floored it with the 89 yet. Strange, my highway mpg went down with the 89. From 19.1 to 17.8, maybe there is a learning curve?

You know Cracker, if you'd take the bull bar, side steps, and aftermarket wheels and tires off and put the factory wheels back on you'd probably be quicker. Course that defeats the purpose of having em huh? [&:]

JC - Same place I always do. Floored from 70 on the way home...no knock
72 - If I take those off I might as well kept my '01. I do miss the aluminum block

Crackhead - I can't believe it took you that long to get from 80-100, mine seems to get there quick. I will try to check it tomorrow.
