The first try was with a meer 4 gallons in the tank. The curb wieght of this truck, with suspension and bar ect., is just over 5400 lbs. Plus the tires are 13.5" wide. I have a lot of wind resistance.

But your wind resistence is blocked by the windshield.

A funny thing I noticed on my 93' was that I get better milage with a 3" lift. I also found it strange, but I wasn't going to complain.

Did you get better mileage or not change the gearing in the 700R4 to match the tires?
Not a knock on your current knowledge, but, we all learn over time.

That was on the same tires. After I put the lift on, it took longer than expected to afford the tires. Then I had to massage the fenders to get the 35" tires to fit. Now, when I put the 35" tires on the milage dropped dramatically on the highway. In fact I didn't use overdrive anymore till I went back to 33" tires.
And yes you will take any chance you get to knock me down, you don't have to lie to have friends.

Speaking of bringing down those around me.....I'm spreading to Orangeburge over the Thanksgiving weekend. While I'm there I plan to drop in some of the local stations to find out what's required to work as a FF in SC. My certification reciprocates to SC, but, I'm not sure if the salary to cost of living ratio is acceptable.

Orangeburg is only 45 min away from me. You are going to want Columbia, Charleston, or Greenville. Do you have EMT as well? I will PM you.

OK, back on subject. (man we seem to have alot of posts here that are related. Wish we could get them organized.)

Anyways, got the truck to 113 today with room to spare. Just ran out of room in traffic. I did not feel the 105 decrease like before, so maybe I had a headwind then. I know there was no wind today. It doestake a while to get there though. I think a set of 4.10s will help. I knowjester just got some new gears, butnot sure whathe started with. I would like to see the milage difference, and tire size. Also he is having an issue, so this may not be accurate. But I think the milage vs gears vs weight is the issue. I don't travel at those speeds often enough to be an issue, but would be nice to know I could, especially if they open another dragstrip here.
