Default ghost in the machine

I have an 01 Silverado that has never left me anywhere until a couple weeks ago. I love this truck, I have an 08 as well but like driving this one better. For the past few weeks, it has been totally dead one or two mornings a week. It jump starts and is fine for a couple days, then dead again. It has a new alternater and die hard. Anyone else had this problem?? I have owned Chevy's all my life and have seen my share of wierd chevy problems but this is a new one on me and my mechanic. If anyone out there has been through this one, I'd love to here from you.

Sounds like a slow drain. Have you checked all lights and electronics to make sure nothing is staying on? Do you know how to check the circuits for draws with a test light and pulling fuses?

Thumbs up ghost - Thanks Mr Shamrock

Hey, that article is very helpful. I know there is a short somewhere but was'nt sure where to start looking. I was sure it was not the alternater because there was never a drain while it was running. The VOM has been steady at 14.5 while running. My mechanic buddy refused to bring it in until I changed it out but I got a 30 pack out of that bet. What do you think about the selinoid on the starter being the cause of the drain, this truck is 10 years old but only has 100k on it and the starter is original equipment. I have had this problem with my wife's Mopar trash but never heard of it on a Chevy.

Thanks again, I will post results
