My 94 K-1500 with 5.7 which I am getting ready to put ele. fan on BUT I found that the gauge inside reads 160 when thermostat opens so I went by that but found when I took thermostat out it is a 195*??

{ just bought the truck one year ago--- I did put it in pot water heated it checked it with two thermometers and it is working correctly so why gauge in truck so off??

I have tried two different sending units also in the intake makes no difference? So is the computer running the truck thinking it is only at 160*?

CAN I run a 180* thermostat in it for fans and be ok????
