What brand headers? And did it come with the bolts and locking washers? You could upgrade to a better set of heder bolts.. or lock-tite....?????

Only use look tight if you are selling the truck to someone you hate! Is the thread inside the head ok?

the threads are solid it had the stock manifolds on that had never been taken off and i replaced it with edlebrock headers. i dont like the lock tite idea because i think the heat would break it down

You could try Fastenall I think they can get you some squash washers But im not sure if they make them that small or if thats the wright name for them. What they are is two washers with bump things that lock when you torque them down. Ill see if I can find a picture of some for you.

I was just remembering when I took my stock manifolds off my 1990 the threads were solid too... well it seemed like it. You might want to run a tap in the head to retrace the threads like me and my buddy did and fixed the problem.

Use the lock tight and only use what you can get back out, also in the past I have seen guys use two gaskets on each side to help with the heat-up and cool-down cycles to allow the headers to have some room to heat up and cool down with out loosening the bolts. If you really want to fix the problem then get the new headers with the extra thick flanges and then use two gaskets and the lock tight. Good luck.
