Default Headers and Exhaust?? Right Choice??

I have a 2009 Silverado Crew Cab 4x4 with the 5.3L Flexfuel so it
takes the E85 (I just use regular 87).

I currently have the Airaid Intake and the hypertech econ tuner. I
like the extra power and fuel mileage. I liked the tuner because I
didn't have to go up to premium.

So I am wanting more power and was thinking about doing headers and
exhaust. Is this smart? Or would just exhaust or just headers be the
way to go? Or is there a better power answer?

I was looking into these two for my truck and wanted to know if they
are the right ones to fit, and best performance for the money.

Also, do these fit together? Could I do them in my garage.

Headers will give you power but not very much. If you cammed out the motor then headers would be for sure the way to go. Since you got a tuner, most forget that the tune requires you to run the engine cooler. So Install a 160 t-stat. The tune will advance the timing and this will create more heat, but if its too hot it will retard the timing. The 160 stat will keep it around 170-175. I would do this first before headers. You will notice more.

Only change the T-stat if the tuner offers you that option. My superchips tuner does not give me that option for my year model truck. Just my 2 cents.
