Default Heated Mirror?

It's cold in Michigan this morning, or at least enough to leave dew about a half inch thick. So I turned on my defrosters (yeah). I noticed, to my surprise, that the driver's mirror is heated... mmmnice. Didn't know that when I bought it.

But, and there's always a but, the passenger side mirror doesn't appear to be heated. It stayed dew covered and cold to the touch. The manual mentions heated mirrors or not, it doesn't say anything about only the driver's mirror being heated.

Anyone else have just one heated mirror, or is my passenger one just broken?

I have an 05 and both mirrors are heated, my wifes 03 trailblazer has both heated as well. The only difference is hers actually have the defrost symbol on them. Both of these are LT's though.

I'm wondering the same thing about my truck. I have pretty much every option on my '04 Z-71 EC except leather seats. I'm hoping the side mirrors are heated, but, like mentioned above, there is no symbol on the mirror to indicate whether they are heated or not. Is there any way to find out, other than waiting till the first snow/freeze?

Do you have rear defrosters? If so, turn them on and then wait about 5 minutes, the mirror should be warm/hot to the touch. Probably can't do this on a real hot day, but any cool morning should tell you. If you don't have rear defrosters, then heated mirrors should have their own 'defrost' swicth (?). It's an electrical relay, so I don't think they'd just come on by turning your heater on.

I don't have a defrost symbol on either mirror, so its possible that you have them heated whether or not there is a symbol

I do have a rear difroster. I'll try your suggestion and see what happens. Those heated mirrors would come in really handy this winter.

Ok, I guess I answered my own question. I found the declarations sheet on the vehicle (the window sticker with all the options). It says "Dual Power Heated mirrors, RV... soemthing". So I guess I'll be taking it into the dealer soon. Yeah extended warranty
