Default Hesitant shifting..fuel related

I have a 98 Silverado w/a 350. When I'm driving through town at lower speeds the truck hesitates slightly when shifting, clearly noticeable, but when i'm out of town on the highway it shifts perfect. Suggestions???

The truck has 116k. Why would it shift fine on the highway but not in town?

I had one doing a very similar thing and it was the tranny also. If you were driving normal or slower than normal it would slip a little when shifting, but if you got on it and drove it a little harder it would shift great. It did that for about 3 weeks before it completely shot its wad! Actually not completely - I was able to drive it to the tranny shop at about 15 MPH (NOT FUN)!

sometimes its simple hydrodynamics (preasure) the higher the RPM the higher the line preasure and the "harder" and faster the tranny shifts .......at 116K I would venture to say the tranny is getting worn out.....I resolved mine for a time with a fluid and filter change.....but that is a TEMPORARY fix....if you are "handy" a master kit is only about 120.00 or so....when I do mine I am going to do a writeup on it so others will have the knowledge to beable to do it also.....trannys are not as hard as most people think

I'll get a tranny fluid/filter change. Hopefully that will help...keyword: hopefully.
