Default Holly Carb Idle?

When I bought my 86 K35 the previous owner had just installed a new 750 holly dubble pumpper, as he informed me the cam he instaled needed a bigger carb to run properly. Only problem now is that it will not idle cold, I have to keep the gas flowing to keep it running, after about ten to fifteen minutes of warm up it will purr like a kitten. Any ideas on what might be keeping it from idling cold?

Have you checked to see if the choke is closing?

Yea, that doesn't seem to be the problem. Although I think I might switch from a manual to an electric.
