Default Horn button

my horn in my 2003 GMC 3500 works if I hit it long enough and stays working until I let it set for a day or longer. How do I take the horn button of the steering wheel or really how do I take the air bag off the steering wheel so I can get to the horn guts and see what is wrong? What I am going to find inside once I remove the bag? Has any one else ever have this problem? thanks

The Chilton and Haynes manuals have instructions on taking the steering system apart, get one that covers your model year. You want to make sure the airbag is disabled. Safety first.
