idling problems

Default idling problems

got my truck running and its having trouble idling right now. i re adjusted the timing and got it to idle on its own. after trying to drive it it idles rough and has to have a little gas to stay running. any ideas on what else to check on?

no codes?./.what was done to the truck?..it runs ok on the road?

motor change. it can drive. but its not running well.... messing with the timing helped it some. but it still acts like a spark problem.

2 THINGS *** TO MIND...

check the egr...a hung open egr (or mis-installed gasket) will not idle.

grounds...grounds at the thermostat housing..these grounds CAN NOT share 1 bolt..seperate them...1 on the thermo housing,1 on the intake

that could be a problem then cause there are 2 grounds at thermostat one on either bolt hole thought something looked wrong and ill look into the egr to.

Check the vacuum lines. I had that problem with my 82 c-10. Egr valve is also a good place to look.

well i took it to a shop to get looked at and inspected and theyre telling me the distributor is worn out and the pickuo coil keeps touching causing it to die every revolution at idle.
