how can i test my ignition switch on 95 silverado

get a multi meter and schymatics
or take it off your truck and bench test it
by hooking it up to a battery

How TO test ignition switch ????

Need to know how to test switch? I am mechaniclly inclined not a mechanic so i need some instructions

i turned off my truck to unlock the shop and went back to move my truck and when i turn the key the dash lights come on but truck doesn't start. Was told ignition switch was bad so i replace it and the same thing still happens. Did i get the wrong advice?
