hello guys im new to this forum.. i just bought a 05 silverado extcab with a 4.8 what kind of pipes can i put on it. i was looking at a 03 with a 5.3 and 77,000 milesbut the deallership was putting the screws to me on that deal do i found the one i bought it had 10,000 more miles and was a heck alot cheaper at 15,890. the 03 was 19,500 did i get a good deal.. i will mainly be pulling my boat with it....bill

 

Glad to have you on board, and yes it sounds like you got a really good deal. As fas as exhaust, I would do a single in flowmaster 40 with dual out.

well i see most guys have the 5.3 and i have the 4.8 whats the difference. the first 2 trucks i looked at had the 5.3. is it better on gas. i noticed in the book that the 5.3 will pull 7700 to 8700 and the 4.3 will pull 6700 to 7700 depending what gear i have.. and im not sure about that. does anyone know how i can tell that. ...bill

 

If you post your VIN number, Argon will probably look it up for you, or you can call a dealership and have them look it up. As far as the difference in motors, the 5.3 has more power, and they get around the same milage. The 5.3 just seems to be more common.

If you look at the posts they will tell you how to do them. They all help and are free. Together they make impressive gains for free. I am going to look at the porting the throttle body when my spacer gets here and I will post my findings.
