Default improve my MPG???

Hi am new to this site but not other fourm pages. I have a 2007 silverado 1500 5.3 and i would like to know if there is ways to increase my MPG. Right now my power train is 100% stock. I have herd of things like high flow air filters, the red neck ram air, MAF sensor screen removal, exhaust, TB spacers (are they BS??), and it goes on.
Im going to avoid doing bypass mods to my TB because i live in Iowa.
What really works??
power is not really my concern, i am looking for MPG. but if both come hand in hand that would be cool too.

To get better gas Mileage. Slow down a bit. Cruise instead of hot rodding every where assuming that is how you are driving. Use your cruise control on the highway. Run with your a/c instead of your windows down. A good free flowing air filter. Maybe a better flowing exhaust, but be careful. If you loose to much back pressure you could hurt your lowend torque and there for loose some MPG. Red neck ram air... it allows more air into the system I beleive. Throttle body spacers... don't waste your money. They only work if BOTH the air and fuel are flowing though it. Descreening your MAF does not work... only thign you gain is maybe a bit more thorttle responce and possibly a check engine light. People up north have done the TB bypass with no problems, but it is a matter of preference. I bypassed mine to allow cooler air into my system, but then again I am down here in Texas. Also a good investment would be a tune. Possibly a hand held or a real tune. It is a matter of preference. My personal next step is a tune and to get rid of my Superchips Flashpac handheld. My best advice is to do your research.... but what I typed is a bit of info...

thanks for the response, but for the most part i dont hot rod around. i may try filter and a nice exhaust. i have read alot of good things about the gibson systems. they give better flow with a nice deep tone (i dont want anything loud, that what my bike is for).

I would say gibson is the way to go then. To me the gibson systems are as quiet as the stock system. And in that case I think I would stay stock or just add a muffler to your exsisting sytem.
