I have a 5.3 and I was looking for an intake manifold for it. I'm curious if anyone knows if I can put and LS1 intake manifold in my truck. One would think that it would since it is an LS style block. But I'm not about to buy an intake manifold without know for certain though. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

 

The intake angle on the heads is different. You will have to change the manifold and upper intake, throttle body and possibly mass air.

 

Thank you. The throttle bodies are the samethe the LM7 and the LS1. The MAF will be okay. I was just curious about the intake manifold itself.

 

I toyed with the idea of Z06 heads 'cause I found them at a good price. The other items shook apart my budget.

 

Oh that sucks. I'm currently starting the build on an LS6 convertion. I just found an LS1 intake manifold for $50 buck so I was hoping it would work without changing my heads.

 

Believe half of what you read....I got my info from a speed shop, not from trying it.

Talked with a few more people. The 5.3 heads are used on LS1 camaro motors in the central florida area. They poke and polish and bolt them right on without changing the intake. You may be on to something and for $50 it's worth a try. You may loose some torque from the shorter runners.
