Exactly, like this....http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+iDA-X303.html... the difference between this one and the other one is the display. The way I see it, spend the extra money for a really nice unit that will last a long while and great sound quality. After all, sound quality is what makes music enjoyable!!

Yes, I agree completely. I have a really nice set-up now. I run the stock headunit because I am running stock speakers and am really only pushing Highs through them, and about half of my Mids. The subs pick up from there. I can get it loud enough to make it toware you cannot talk and be able to hear yourself. (You scream and cannot hear yourself doing so on some songs, I can also slightly change your breathing pattern with my comp base cd) Also I like the stock look, but with surprising amounts of sound. My subs are under the rear seat and my amp and cap is under the drivers seat. (So I can regulate how hot it gets with the factory hvac system)

I have a newer head-unit now. I still have to old one and the Slave cd player. (I swapped them because the old headunit had some back lights going out and didn't want to mess with it.

Cvtsax- Where did you get your converter and did you have to keep the slave cd player working, or could you not have it and still plug straight into the headunit? I still have the aux plugin in the newer headunit so I might be able to go that route.

Ruffneck4lyfe- I know why to upgrade, I just don't want to build a whole new system for this truck this late in it's life. I plan on getting a new truck when I get a new job that can make me rich! (Might be another year or two!) Plus I like the factory look for unsyspecting people that get a little scard when they get in and think it is just stock and get punched from the "Stock" system. I can push my JL's pretty hard. I don't like very much mids in my systems anyways. Unlike other subs, JL's have a little bit broader frequency range to cover more tones.

Thanks for all the input so far, I guess what we need now is a wiring schematic for the entertainment systems. I had the older slave style set-up, and now have the integrated cd player stock Delco headunit.

dmccartyfan, I will look up the info from mine and send you a pm when I have time. Your truck is a 98 right? But what year headunit did you put in it. Does it have a slave cd or tape?

Ruffneck4lyfe, I understand you will not get the power without getting a new head unit, I am just curious why you would put a marine headunit in your truck??

.http://www.logjamelectronics.com/pacaaigm9.html....This[/url] is the aux input I have for mine. I use it with my zune. You have to make sure your setup has a slave cd/tape that uses the 9 pin plug. It says it works with 1995-2002 so it should work on the 98's. It does list for 80 or whatever on that website. I got mine for like 30 just by doing a little surfing and buying it from somewhere else. Mine works excellent for all I want to do with it.

Gpet, here is your answer... Its a 3 dollar cable from radio shack or go to this site here is the link to the part. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=240-135 I use parts express for all my audio needs as they seem to have everything. Just plug the RCA's into your aux input on deck wire the head phone jack where you would like your Ipod, get a charger. PLUG and PLAY

SurferGerry, that will not work on these trucks as they do not have RCA hookups on the back of the stock head units. They will still need a converter of some sort.

OH I see I thought he had an aftermarket uint in there... Well in that case if you are seeking after market stereo with a factory look you could try this part, and a head unit of your choice...

cvtsax - mine is 98 but now I see ya'll are referring to aftermarket HUs... I have the stock cassette/am/fm with the CD separately down below the AC controls. I haven't looked to see what type of connectors I have back there but I'm assuming I don't have any RCAs.
